The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will wow audiences in Greater Shepparton with a concert on Wednesday 16th June at the Eastbank Centre.

Manager of Performing Arts and Conventions, Rob Robson, said Greater Shepparton is one of only a few regional centres to receive an annual visit from the world renowned orchestra.

“Greater Shepparton has always delivered large and enthusiastic audiences for Melbourne Symphony Orchestra concerts, and this is the main reason they keep coming back,” Mr Robson said.

“The orchestra is also continually impressed by the outstanding quality of our performing arts venues.”

The program for this year’s concert includes Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Tchaikovksy’s Violin Concerto, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.

“The Shepparton concert will also feature exciting young violinist, Kristian Winther.  There is certainly something in the program for all tastes,” Mr Robson added.

Patrons are invited to attend a free pre-concert talk which will introduce the program and give an insight into the music chosen by the orchestra.

“We encourage everyone to come along and help make sure the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra continues to class Greater Shepparton as one of their `must play’ destinations,” Mr Robson concluded.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will play at 8.00 pm at Eastbank on Wednesday 16th June.  The pre-concert talk will begin at 7.00 pm.
