Students, Teachers and Schools

SAM offers a range of educational workshops, tours, and resources for both teachers and students. SAM also develops and hosts Professional Development opportunities for teachers throughout the year.

For Students

We welcome students interested in a career in the arts to apply for work experience at SAM. For further details please contact SAM.

For Teachers and Schools

We welcome kindergarten, primary and secondary schools to participate in both self-guided and guided tours with an art educator. Free guided tours highlight aspects of the collection and changing exhibition displays that are often exclusive to SAM.

Currently, we are unable to offer group or student tours in the museum due to advice regarding COVID-19.

To continue to engage young creative minds, we are offering virtual zoom tours for student groups, hosted by our experienced art educator from within the museum. We can tailor the tour to suit your group, focus on specific artworks, styles or eras, linking to cirriculum and giving your students a valuable museum experience from the saftey of home.

To book your tailored student group virtual tour, please contact Linda Bryan on lbryan@sheppartonartmuseum.com.au

Please stay tuned for teacher professional development opportunties for the remainder of 2020.

Resources

For each major exhibition SAM creates Education Resources that can be used as an in class resource for teachers and students.

Throughout the duration of the exhibition, students and teachers are encouraged to visit SAM and complete activities in the Education Resource whilst viewing the current exhibition.
