Join members of the Melbourne Art Library for Reading Room, a monthly online forum that unites art, literature, and visual culture to address issues that we face as a contemporary society. Through conversation and optional reading, participants will dissect a variety of themes and ideas, and are encouraged to contribute their own unique perspectives to the conversation. The theme of this month’s program is “Evidentiary Images”.

In our upcoming session of Reading Room, we will ask: to what extent can images be both art and evidence? In addressing this question, we will draw on set texts which discuss photography and its ethical status, as well as new forms of imaging technology and the artists who use them.

You don't need to be an art expert or a historian to join in. No prior knowledge needed - all are welcome. Texts for discussion will be sent 2 weeks ahead of the program.
