Philip Hickingbotham: Patterned Luminescence

Patterned Luminescence is a new oil triptych by local artist Philip Hickingbotham, whose immersive scale and meticulous detail transport viewers into the dense, sun-dappled foliage of the forest. With angular brushstrokes and a realist’s eye, Hickingbotham captures Antipodean bushland so vividly one can almost feel the cool damp air and hear the rush of the waterfall.
About the artist
Philip Hickingbotham (b. 1993 Kyabram, VIC) teaches art at Shepparton Christian College and holds a Bachelor of Graphic Design (2014) and a Diploma in Education (2015) from La Trobe University, Bendigo. In recent years he has been a finalist in several art prizes and in 2023 held his first solo exhibition, Chroma scape, in Nagambie
