Heartland

Presenting a selection of new acquisitions from the SAM Collection alongside select loans, Heartland explores both unique representations of the landscape and a broad range of mark-making across painting, sculpture, photography, and textiles, spanning from Emily Kame Kngwarreye’s expressive rhythmic line work to Beth Peters's mesmerising patterned drawings, and a new major tapestry from the Australian Tapestry Workshop translating artist Philip Hunter's 2008 painting Salt Creep with Fence No. 2.
