Contemporary Arts on the Road – PD for Teachers

30 November 2021

Art Educators don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to attend an exceptional Professional Development onsite in new SAM!

Contemporary Art on the Road is a teacher professional development program founded to bring artists, art educators and teachers together to exchange ideas, share creative experiences and explore contemporary art and culture. The program has been designed to introduce teachers to a range of hands-on, expertly designed strategies and resources for teaching contemporary art in their classroom

Sam George and Lisa Radford will present a workshop based in collaborative practices, signals and non-verbal or written language. Working together since 2008, the collaborators use conversation and oral histories to produce works that refer to documentary processes, shared narratives and coded language. You can listen to the artists discussing text and language with Jason Phu on Gertrude Talks, a Digital Projects initiative of Gertrude Contemporary.

Presenters: Sharon Grace Flynn, Gertrude Contemporary; Melissa Bedford, Monash University Museum of Art; Kathryn Hendy-Ekers, Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority; and representatives from the partnering galleries and museums.

Should you have any concerns about accessibility, please do not hesitate to get in contact with Sharon Grace Flynn on sharon@gertrude.org.au
or lbryan@sheppartonartmuseum.com.au

Please note this program is available to regional and Low SES Victorian teachers as a priority. There is no cost for involvement however bookings are essential. Please call Gertrude to check eligibility.
