FreeSAM presents Moorina Bonini’s Australian Melting Pot (2018) as part of the Shepparton Festival. This artwork will be projected on the wall of the Wild Life Brewery for Shine on Greater Shepp.
Australian Melting Pot (2018) examines the complexity of living between multiple cultures in Australia. Bonini explores the Australian identity and how it manifests in our society through an extensive ingredient list, that combined make for the perfect identity stew.
Moorina Bonini is a proud descendant of the Yorta Yorta Dhulunyagen family clan of Ulupna and the Yorta Yorta and Wurundjeri-Woiwurrung Briggs/McCrae family. Moorina is an artist whose works are informed by her experiences as an Aboriginal and Italian woman.
