Inspired by 500 Strong, the bold and playful exhibition by renowned photographer Ponch Hawkes currently on display in the Community Gallery, SAM presents a unique series of Life Drawing workshops in celebration of the maturing female form. Local artist Kristen Retallick will guide the workshop, teaching you the fundamentals of life drawing in an exclusive after-hours experience.

Inspired by the themes of the exhibition, this series of Life Drawing workshops will include a mature female model, giving attendees the opportunity to explore the female form through drawing and create their own masterpiece within the exhibition space.

No experience necessary - this workshop series is beginner friendly and suitable for all experience levels.

All materials are included, including easels, paper and charcoal.

Artist bio

Kristen Retallick is a multidisciplinary artist living on Yorta Yorta land. She works predominantly in drawing and painting in inks, charcoal and acrylic. Kristen’s minimal approach to the figure and landscape explores complex human relationships with land, water and each other.
