Welcome to SAM Winter Camp!
Bookings for all programs and tours will be open from 10 June.
School holidays at SAM are back! For artists aged 1 - 17, our range of hands-on programs and tours are perfect to keep kids and teens creating, thinking and playing while school's out. All programs are free or low-cost - keep scrolling to see the full list of activities planned for the winter school holidays.
SAM Kids Art Trail
Collect a copy from the SAM Front Desk
Our SAM Kids Art Trail leads kids and families on an adventure around the museum through a free, self-guided booklet containing puzzles, activities, scavenger hunts and more.

Still Life and Landscape Drawing with Angharad Neal-Williams

Inspired by artist Adam John Cullen’s Three Hares and Three Ears, this whimsical still life/landscape drawing workshop led by artist Angharad Neal-Williams encourages kids to look closer and capture what they see while flexing their creative muscles!

Paper Flower Wearable Creations with Becky-Jane Fortin

Learn how to make your own wearable paper creations in this fun workshop! Led by local artist and hat-maker Becky-Jane Fortin, kids will create detailed flowers and plants using a variety of paper media that they can take home as accessories.

Score and Stamp Ceramics with Monique Elliott

Kids will craft and decorate their own functional clay creations in this hands-on workshop with ceramicist Monique Elliott. Using an array of textured materials and tools, each creation can be made with its own fully unique design that kids can customise to their heart’s content.
Intaglio Intensive Printmaking Workshop – textile banners inspired by Jess Johnson

In this intensive workshop, teens will draw inspiration from artist Jess Johnson’s eclectic artworks to create their own intaglio print – a technique of etching designs into acetate, rubbing with ink and transferring onto textile for a funky, ready-to-hang banner.

It's a Little Big World: Collagraph Prints

Using line, shape, scale, texture, and form to design a scene for stamping, kids will learn to make collagraph prints in this fun workshop inspired by our current Children’s Gallery exhibition Little big, Big little.
SAM Toddlers presents See Make Play

Enjoy creative playtime with See Make Play at SAM Toddlers! Toddlers will experience a hands-on session filled with sensory play, exploration and messiness. At the end of the session, families can take away a play pack to continue the fun at home.

Ceramic Creatures with Monique Elliott
