Volunteer at SAM
Connect with our community through arts and culture by volunteering at SAM
Volunteering at SAM brings with it incredible benefits – regular time in the galleries amongst the artworks, opportunities for social connection with people from diverse generations and backgrounds, and the chance to be a part of exciting cultural events, interacting with artists and audiences alike.
Volunteers can take up an array of roles at the museum, including working with our Visitor Services team in our retail shop, greeting people at our door and informing them about current exhibitions and programs at the museum and providing navigational assistance, supervising the exhibitions and providing information and support to visitors, sometimes leading their own museum tours.
Additionally, volunteers can assist in the running of public and educational programs and special events both during regular museum hours and after hours. Delivering exemplary visitor experience is often at the core of our volunteer roles.
Anyone can be a volunteer - knowledge of local geography and history can be incredibly useful; however, the most important quality is an open, welcoming manner and a willingness to learn and engage.
Shepparton Art Museum is an equal opportunity employer, committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that is respectful and supports creativity and innovation.
