Young Archie Shepparton

Celebrating the creativity, imagination, and unique perspectives of young people across our region, Young Archie Shepparton presents 26 portraits created by local students aged between 5 years and 18 years of someone near and dear to them.

The 26 finalist works, selected by SAM from over 100 submissions, are showcased in SAM’s Ryan Family Children's Gallery, greeting visitors as they queue to enter the Archibald Prize 2026 exhibition.

In addition to the 26 finalist artworks selected for physical display, all 100+ submissions are being digitally showcased both in the Children's Gallery and on SAM's ground-level digital displays across the exhibition period.
