About the exhibition
Curated by and presented exclusively at Shepparton Art Museum in partnership with National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), The Land is Us: Stories, Place & Connection brings together notable artworks from the NGV Collection that offer an expanded consideration of landscape art.
Weaving together complex and varied artistic approaches by significant Australian and First Nations artists, including Sidney Nolan, Brook Andrew, John Brack, Destiny Deacon and Patricia Piccinini, alongside international artists, the exhibition presents a range of perspectives surrounding our fascination and connection to the land and its role in shaping our national and personal identities.
The Land is Us will be showing at SAM from 30 March 2024 until 1 September 2024.
The Land is Us: Stories, Place & Connection is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria’s Fine Arts Indemnification Scheme.
